First lets dispell the notion that nazis were ultra conservative. The Nazis used nationalism to advance their cause which a form of socialism. They believed in an orderly society and that business would advance the work of the state. Communism took businesses away from the owners, the Nazis told the owners what they would produce and left the alone afterwards within reason. Of course every movement needs a scapegoat. For the Nazis it was communism and the jews.

As for the first question; everyone pretty much considers the Nazis the ultimate in oppression. ( they should study Stalinist Russia) So when anyone wants to make the point that someone is oppressive it is easy to add the suffix Nazi ie.; smoking nazis, food nazis, soup nazis (jerry seinfeld is not a conservative). This is oppression in what some of these movements propose.

For Ellinore... Fema Nazis are not women who want equal pay for equal work. As defined by Rush Limbaugh; Fema Nazis are women who are using feminism to advance a political agenda of power. Fema Nazis are the extremist who have advanced legislation that would make men second class citizens. Look at what happed to Larry Summers of Harvard when he suggested gender differences may make it harder for women for excel in math and physics. He did not say it was true but that it should be looked at. The Feminazis drummed him out of office.

Because they imply that people who tell others what to do are "nazis".

Most of the time you have a few extremists and then the people who just give a **** get lumped in together. It's annoying and it's an easy way to oversimplyfy a whole group and undermine what they have to say. It works all the time.

Ever hear of a Feminazi? Well, some lump women who want equal pay for equal work, etc are "feminazis" and it scares all those women who are not as extreme away from the whole idea of it. Nice way to control the masses and make them even more passive.

Don't control me because it's better if we control you.

These are examples of the psychological defense mechanism known as “projection.”

This method can be deliberately used as a form of deflection because conservatives, understandably, don’t want to be identified with an evil, right-wing, failed political movement, so they try to describe it as a left-wing movement or, failing that, they try to associate it with liberal concepts.

That also doesn’t work because anyone who knows anything about the Nazis knows that they detested liberals and anything that even sounded remotely liberal.

The Nazi Party envisioned a selective population as superior and set out to eliminate all those that differed from their ideal race. They tolerated no differences of any kind, religious, ethnic, etc.

Simple observation equivocates this much more strongly to the Republican Party. Their small gov't. stance only refers to regulation the business world. But they're very intolerant of different personal beliefs, and would legislate witch beliefs would be allowed if they could.

Democrats say live & let live, what you belive is your business. They just want the gov't to make sure that big business isn't dirty dealling the citizens (ie. Enron)

Because people don't read past Nazi "Socialis"t Party and figure out that Nazi is a far right ideaology and Hitler kicked out the Socialists and Communists-and managed to kill quite a few too.

The Nazi Socialist party was socialist IN NAME ONLY so Hitler could fool the people. It worked and is apparently still working for many Republicans.

You are right, just like Bush is a fascist. That is far closer to Hitler, like his granddaddy, than any liberal. It amazes me that Conservatives call Democrats (who they label all as liberal) Nazis and Commies!!! Which is it? It damn sure can't be both, and in actuality is neither!

Gee, I don't know, maybe it's because we're often labeled in the same way. Tit for tat if you will. Further, the Nazis may have been an ultra-conservative movement but some of the things libs say are awful "Nazi-esque."

The Nazi party in Germany exercised 100% control over the citizens. The english translation of nazi was the National Socialist Party. The liberal movement of today is not a true liberal party it is a socialist party. Terms like food nazi refer to people who want to control what you eat based on their idea of what is right for you. Freedom, or conservatism, dictates that you are the one to make decisions in your life, not anyone else. That holds true even if your decisions are stupid. They are still your's to make, not anyone else's.
