As a freelance journalist, I became one so I could tell people stories, inform them on issues or people they may not know about. I write from a social justice perspective if I am writing an op ed column. When I am reporting I answer the five questions in a story every good journalist answers- who, what , where , when , why and how it happened.

I also try my best to check my sources and make sure that at a minimum at least two corrobarate the facts I have , that isn't always possible but I do do my best to do that . I also name people who won't co-operate, politicians , bureaucrats, ceos etc so that the public is aware and knows that perhaps these people don't necessarily have their best interests at heart.

There seem to be 2 questions here.
Media ticks on 'breaking news; fresh news; sensational news;trp-ratings-go-up news!
Journalists are objective, because they are trained to be objective. But it is only reports which make them objective, not features. Very often the journalist will be biased and it would reflect in his story or coverage...that is where the editor steps in.

That is journalism in our country! They do not tell the truth, like it is instead lie right to our face. They tell us what they think they want us to hear! Screw the facts, just please the masses. I for one would like it straight up. That doe's not seem to answer. Use our news is bias and it is soon not to change! Examine every bit of news, some might be on the up and up.
