Well, it's about 3 x 10^16 meters. So if you walk 100 km per day, that's 300 billion days, or 800 million years.

Here is a rough estimate, not an exact calculation.
A light year is a little less than 6 trillion miles.
The star is a little more than 4 light years away.
That makes it about 24 trillion miles.
At 24 trillion miles divided by 4 MPH says it would take 6 trillion hours to go 24 trillion miles at that speed.
Divide by 12 hours per day walking to get 500 billion days.
Divide by 365 to get about 1,370,000,000 years, rounded. Pretty close to Weed Robot.

OK. Call it 60 miles per 'day' ('day' doesn't mean a helluva lot in space ☺) 60 miles is almost exactly 100 km so let's us that. A light year has
(3*10^8 m/s)*(3600 s/hr)*(24 hrs/day)*(365.25 days/year) = 9.47*10^15 meters.
So it would take 9.47*10^15 / 100,000 = 9.47*10^10 'days'. That's
94,700,000,000 'days' or
94,700,000,000/365.25 = 259,377,534 years.

And that's just to go 1 light year. The nearest star is a bit over 4 light years away.

Pack a lunch ☺

I think it about 4.1295 x 10^16 meters. At about 5 mph or 8 kph, it would take you ... (thinks hard, looks at ceiling, counts on fingers) ... 1,177,727,811 years.

Oh wait, ... Alpha Centauri is moving ... hmmm ... arctan of the hippopotamus, divide by cheery pie, ... hmmm ...
You'll never catch it at that speed.
I suggest at least 169,500 kilometers per hour, then it will take only 62,305 years.

The distance to Alpha Centauri is 25.8 trillion miles.

4 miles per hour for 12 hours per day is 48 miles per day.

25.8 trillion divided by 48 is five hundred thirty-seven billion five hundred million days it would take you to walk there.

537,500,000,000 days is 1,471,626,230 years.

14,716,262 centuries.

14 million centuries.

At 5 miles per hour or 60 miles per day, it would take

1,177,300,980 years or

11 million centuries.

60 miles a day times 365 days you haven't even reached the moon. you would be dead before you even reached mars,
so go in a dream.
