Not all women do.
It's just a matter of preference. Just like some people like blondes, others like brunettes.
I happen to be very picky about height. I never dated anyone under 6'. And I do have to agree with all of the other responses, I think it's mostly about security. I feel so safe with my husband, and he is a foot taller than me, lol. It just gives a really good feeling when I'm all snuggled in his arms :-)

Like most women said....I believe it's a security thing, but not all women are like that. I used to date taller men - not so much because thats what I was looking for, but because I'm about 5'5 and most men are taller than me. The man I ended up marrying is 5'4 - pretty short by most peoples standards.....he is absolutely wonderful, I could not have hoped for better. It's all about how one person makes the other feel. I feel very loved, safe and secure :)

I don't have a problem with height and neither do my man, he is 5'7 ' and I am 5'91/2 when I put on my heels he loves it. He has always loved tall women. He claims that he has a thing for long legs, He's happy and so am I. What I am trying to say not all women care about height. You know what they say Big Things comes in small packages. Look at nitro, small but lethal.

In my view, men care more about being taller than a woman. I'm tall and I wear heels, making me 6'0 to 6'1" most of the time. Every guy I've dated who is shorter than I am in heels has made comments about it, i.e. aren't those uncomfortable?, wow those are really high, why do you wear heels all the time?
I'm not going to change my stiletto love for a man.

My hubby is a inch shorter than I am, He body builds also.He is 5'7 and I myself am 5'8.height never even entered my mind. All i know is he is the perfect size.We see eye to eye and when He hugs me( he fits me like a glove) I wouldn't change his size for nothing.Id just sometimes tape his mouth so he couldn't talk back! LOL..But some women do Like the taller men. I have dated both short and tall,before marrying My baby.Never really dawned on me about size.Good question!!

I guess a taller man makes them feel more protected , but if they find a good match none of that matters, i always thought that i would marry a man taller than me but i married a man who is actually around two inches shorter than me and i could not be more happier! i wouldn't trade him for a taller man for anything in the world!

My husband is a couple of inches taller than me. I didn't consider his height when I started dating him. I suppose we like a man to be about our height or taller so that we feel "feminine." But I don't think this is a definite, many women will date men shorter than themselves.

Because a woman wants to feel safe and secure with her man, He is the protector so to speak.
Honestly I don't think it really matters in my opinion, sometimes a shorter man could come in handy LOL

I am attractive to men that are tall because it is more appealing to me. A short man does not do anything for me, It is a total turn off.. My sister love her some short men but every women is different. I dated a short man once and he had a complex problem he did not like me wearing heels because I was too tall compared to him and we argued constantly about it. It's not my fault that he was a little man. This the main reason we broke up...
