This is an excellent question

The Left constantly has to re-invent terminology because their ideas and concepts are soundly rejected by a majority of people. They think re-packaging and re-labeling will fool people, and it sometimes does

For example, you might notice how many liberals are now calling themelves "progressives ". Similairly, since most people have caught on to the fact that global warming is a hoax, now we are hearing about "climate change"

I supposes they realized it's not quite what they thought it was, but I do think we should take a look at the supposed causes of the "climate change" formerly known as global warming, and think of what they can cause, other than "climate change":

Gas guzzlers lead to wasting money on gas, and are not fun for those of us who have to breath in their heavy exhaust.

Mass Transit is inconvenient but if more people took it traffic would reduce and so would insurance. Not to mention the fall in demand for oil and we will only have to breathe the exhaust of one vehicle, not 40.

Energy efficient products and clean electrical generation devices (solar panels, wind mills) may require a higher costing investment, though the cost of operation is low enough that they save us more money.

So you see, no matter how much you, I, and the rest of us who disagree with global warming fanatics, the supposed causes of their ordeal actually do cause other problems that we should take into consideration, and some (though not nearly all) of their solutions actually benefit us not only environmentally, but economically.

I don't believe in global warming, but I'd rather have a miata than a hummer, and so says my bank.

First of all, global warming is a scientific issue, not a political one. It has nothing to do with "the left", except that most global warming deniers are conservatives.

Secondly, global warming and global climate change are 2 seperate things. Greenhouse gas emissions cause global warming, and global warming alters the global climate. Hence global climate change.

Climate change is a term even George Bush has used. I t is accepted by more people. Call it what you want, global warming and climate change are accepted by most respected scientists.

Nice try! It wasn't the "left" it was a term coined by a Republican consultant to make it sound less threatening.

Terry Gross's "Fresh Air" interview with Frank Luntz ran on NPR this week. Luntz says he advises the Republican Party to call 'global warming,' 'climate change,' because 'climate change' sounds more scientific, less polarizing and less radical...less like enviros who, according to Luntz, are extremists.

Just like a Neocon to blame Liberals for something THEY DID.

I guess the latter term makes the left slightly less wrong. The climate started changing the day it was created and has never stopped. But this too shall pass, as the ADD left-wingers lose interest and go find something else to worry about.

Because they are figuring out that it's not something our civilazation has done. It's just a natural occuring event that is relative to earth's orbit with the sun and things like solar flares.

As Shakespeare might say, "A hoax by any other name would smell the same".
