There's nothing wrong with them. There are some people who believe that if you don't have the same beliefs as them, they deserve to be called names and put down.
Generally, people who do this behave this way because spewing put-downs is easier for them than actually coming up with a good answer.

Good Question ! I asked a similar one a few weeks ago.
My best guess, is that so many of the semi-literate people on this forum, get all their news and opinions from one-or-two sources.
They don't understand anything about normal political discourse, and so they take these narrow-minded positions, and when someone challenges them, thier only response is to attack and slander !
I've gone so far as to start reporting these idiots to the Y/A management, for example: One person asked what postion OBL would have in Hillary's cabinet. That sort of hate-mongering has no place in a forum where most are here to learn, and share.
P.S., Not all these nut-cases are Conservatives,...just most !

There is nothing wrong with Democrats and Liberals, there are just a lot of ignorant people on this website. Many people like to point fingers and namecall then to think up a true political question/answer. I am sick of nicknames like libtard, liebral, demoncrat and stuff like that. It doesn't make for an intelligent society, which is what it was intended to be. What you have to realize is that yahoo like many other medias and dotcoms have a political bias, and if you aren't on their side, you're screwed. That's what's happening on Y!Politics. Some people on this site can't think for themselves, and they let bigots like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly speak for them. I have met some liberals on here who don't know what they're talking about, but I ignore them because I don't want to be associated woth their lack of tact or veiw. While some conservatives make jokes about liberals not working and doing drugs, they fail to realize that they are blowing off their work to come on here and insult people, and that the republican president now in office did coke when he was younger. It's their 'blindspot' that they can point out anything democrats have dpne wrong, but when it comes to a blemish on their record, it's back to finger pointing and namecalling.

right this is what I say approximately it. 40 9% of Congress remains Republican harping the comparable previous social gathering line. We did some abode-cleansing final November - next around will sparkling abode and do away with something of 'em. The 2008 election will turn our united states returned to the persons and take it into the twenty first century. This technique shouldn't pass properly for any Republican conserving any place of work, everywhere.

Its the difference of opinion between Conservatives and Liberals. They think on the opposite ends of the spectrum, the difference of opinion on different important subjects.
Libs think abortion is alright~Cons think its immoral, that's just one example on how differently the two think.
Over all both sides insult each other because they have a difference in there opinion.

dems/libs vs. repubs/cons? those aren't choices. they are just two sides of the same coin. the insults are just weapons of mass distraction. real change isn't going to be brought about by either one of those non-choices. the only difference seems to be repubs/cons don't waste effort on trying to hide their nastiness.

Liberal : showing or characterized by broad-mindedness; "a broad political stance"; "generous and broad sympathies"; "a liberal newspaper"; "tolerant of his opponent's opinions"
having political or social views favoring reform and progress
tolerant of change; not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or tradition
For me, liberals refuse to be put in a box. Conservatives can call me anything they like, but for now-the US is still a democracy.
Disagreement is Democracy and people should never be scared to voice their opinion. Many are afraid and it's very sad.

Because modern politics includes thriving off of the faults of your enemies. Unfortunately, democrats employ this tactic too.
Edit:
And looking at these answers, old habits die hard. It just shows our own weaknesses. Oh, I just wish it wasn't so, our problems are our creations yet we see them not.

Because when Republicans/Cons mock/insult their opponents, they don't have to talk about themselves. Corrupt, deviant and dishonest. It worked in previous elections.
