how much does it cost to change a new bumper ? I know re-paint the whole bumper cost $ 300 at some body shop. ( also repaint it doesnt fix the dent on it ). So is it better to get a new bumper at the dealer and install it there ?

What you need to install is the bumper cover, not the bumper itself.
You are right about the cost of repainting it (although around here for a midsized Ford it would be 10% higher). If you get a new bumper cover installed and painted it is about $575 (as estimated by the insurance company estimator).

you can get it done cheaper through a local body shop,and get it painted a lot cheaper,they usually do these for around 5-600 bucks total and that's getting the bumper also,i had my front one done and it cost 550 bucks for everything,id check around and get some prices from some of the body shops,there's always one that will do it cheaper than the other one will,good luck with it.
