I have seen a product advertised that attaches to the house in a similar manner to eavestoughs but instead of funneling all of the collected water to a down spout it allows the water to run off the roof, hit several louver type strips which bounce the water over the lawn.
This ensures there is little or no erosion due to water dropping in the same area constantly.

No personal experience with that type of product although I have seen them advertised. The concept seems too simplistic that the water will fan out from hitting the louvres---water always seeks the lowest point and water running off a roof will likely just flow down the fascia board and drip by the foundation---not good unless you like a wet basement or foundation problems. The 4-6 inches the water would drop from the roof onto the louvres is not enough force to eject the water outwards very far, in my opinion. Best to go with standard gutters and install gutter guards if you have leaf/cleaning problems.

Most modern homes have underground piping that your downspouts from gutters run into that are installed before the back fill is done. there is no erosion and have a sloped run off that runs underground alot of times near a drain field. I have never heard of the product you are talking about however.
