Frances Bavier, who played Aunt Bee on The Andy Griffith Show, is rather literally my role model. My own grandmother, Grace Detweiler Frederick, was my role model growing up. She was a sensible, competent, hard-working Pennsylvania German. Actually, she looked a little like Frances Bavier.
I do not feel I should be a role model to my young friends mainly because I am morbidly obese. But mentally, and I suppose ethically, I am proud when young people look to me for advice.
I have been a role model at times, especially when I was in Overeaters Anonymous and the young girls struggling with eating disorders looked up to me for the weight I lost, something over 140 pounds. That's why it's all the more humiliating to have gained it all back.

People should try and live by own experinces. Life is full of trials and errors. No, I don't have a role model. although I do admire achievers. I don't strive to be a role model for anyone. The whole thing about role models is wrong...as far I am concerned.

My Grandfather was a great role model... I also have a marine/homeland security friend that is a great role model.
I try to be a good example and role model, too.

My father was my roll model. Good man, never drunk, quit smoking, never raised his voice, never struck my mother, always went to work and rarely stayed home sick. I wish I could thank him for being a good father.
I think that by trying to be like him I am paying tribute to him.
