is it safe to move a fridg on itw side without damaging it?

yes but you must let it stand up right for at least 24 hrs,[minimum] before plugging it in,

yes you can but make sure you return it to the upright position for at least 24 hrs. before plugging it in again.

I'd check the manual. Mine specifically states, "do not move or store refidgerator in any other position than upright". GE Profile side by side
