in this day and age the possibilities are endless. let me start you off with the differences of the 2 products. Concealer is made to hide discoloration and flaws on your skin such as redness, pimples and dark under eye circles. Foundation is to even out your skin tone and create an even color that will act as a "foundation" for makeup. I know of several people who don't use concealer, they use foundation only or just tinted moisturizer. Okay, tinted moisturizer is a creamy formulation that does 2-3 things being: moisturize, provide sheer, natural coverage and has uv and or spf protection.
forms of foundation:
compact powder-MAC Studio Fix Powder is famous for this as it provides medium to full coverage with a matte finish.
loose/mineral powder - Bare Minerals and the like, cover up redness and even out the skin tone with a natural finish. Not cakey.
Stick-Max Factor is know for this as it is a creamy consistency designed to blend in easy and provides medium to full coverage. A lot of drag queens use this product.
Cream - there are several types and most brands package them in a compact. Can be applied with a latex wedge sponge or foundation brush. It provides a natural looking dewy finish depending on the technique and amount applied. Glides on easy and blends well.
Pan/Cake or Pancake - a hard type of foundation found in a pan. Requires a wet sponge for application. Used also in stage makeup. Not blendable. Tends to look heavy and cakey.
Liquid - comes in a bottle. Depending on the brand, the coverage ranges from medium to full. MAC Studio Fix liquid has a full matte coverage for flawless looking skin.
Mousse - (is it L'oreal or Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse) provides a cream to powder finish. Is basically whipped cream foundation in consistency. The particular brand stated above is not blendable.
Spray/Aerosol/Airbrush - liquid diluted to spray on skin evenly to create full and flawless coverage. Also used to alter the natural skin tone evenly. Mostly used for theatrics, fashion, music videos, movies. Not blendable manually but can mix in custom colors. This is for pro use usually as it is time consuming to create an even application.
forms of concealer:
Cream - blends well and the coverage can be adjusted depending on the amount applied. Can be applied with fingers or concealer brush or even a sponge. Sponges tend to waste more of the product so better to use clean fingers or a brush. This can be packaged in a lipstick type container or a little pot.
In a tube - looks like a lipgloss tube. Is applied with the built in wand. Can provide good goverage but is difficult to blend.
Concealer - Bare minerals has a powder concealer and is generally applied using a concealer brush that comes with the starter kit.
Foundation should always match your skin color. It should even out the color of your neck and face. Most people just tend to match it to their face color forgetting that they might be a little more tan on the neck area.Concealers depend on different needs. If you have dark circles under your eyes you need a pink/salmon toned concealer NOT a yellow toned concealer as the theory goes yellow+grey=green. Remember the darker the circles the darker the concealer. Using a lighter shade of concealer is a HUGE MISTAKE. It will not cover them up. If you have redness on your skin you can cover this up with yellow based concealer or your full coverage foundation. Of course always ask a professional for help in selecting the colors to suit your needs.
There are also green and purple based correctors that come in cream, pancake and liquid formulation to even out discolorations before applying the foundation or concealer itslef. The green hides redness and may appear white when applied to skin. The purple corrects dark spots.
I hope I helped.

foundation is an all-over thing. It is something that blends in with your natural skin color, and helps to even out your skin tone, and provides the "foundation" for your powder, blush or bronzers.
Concealer is something that is dabbed onto certain areas, like if you have dark circles under your eyes, or if you have a blemish. it is usually put on under the foundation, so that the foundation can help blend the concealer into your over-all appearance.
Cream, powder and liquid are the only forms that I am aware of.
Powder foundations are for a more sheer coverage, and are best for those people who do not have dry skin, or have naturally perfect complexions.
Cream foundations and concealers are pretty thick, and are the "heavy artillery" for evening your complexion. It is perfect for people who have acne problems, or in my case, have a face that is a different shade than my neck is. (I need the thicker stuff to cover up my natural face color so that it will match my neck color sometimes!!)
The Liquid form is the most popular right now, as it provides coverage and is not too thick, or heavy on your face. You can use your fingers or a foundation brush to apply all of these, and will put you on the right start towards the art of face painting! lol

Concealer is a spot treatment...it is generally a pencil, liquid, or a lipstick style stick. It is used cover up small areas of redness, acne, or dark circles. Foundation is for your whole face to even out your skin tone. It comes in liquid, mousse, spray and airosol. There is also powder, which you dust or blot on. This keeps shininess to a minimum. Powder is either pressed (compact), loose powder, or it comes pre packaged with a brush (like Neutrogena Mineral sheers).

foundation is something u can use everywhere on ur face to even out ur complexion
concealer hides pimples and red under- eyes.
although, some people just use foundation and no concealer, but conealer tends to be thicker, so its better to use for hiding things.
foundation can be in the form of a cream, liguid, pressed powder, or loose powder. i would suggest either pressed powder or liquid
concealer can be in the form of a liquid, but more commonly its in the form of a stick (like a lipstick) or in a pencil (like an eyeliner). id suggest one of the stick varieties for more coverage.

its concealer not councilor, and this hides blemishes, it comes in stick form usually or a dab on applicator. Foundation comes in a cream or liquid, that you use all over your face. Power is used on top of foundation, or on its own
