They chose Strahan, Eli Manning, center Shaun O'Hara, linebacker Antonio Pierce and punter Jeff Feagles as captains...

I understand Manning, O'Hara, and Pierce

but Strahan a captain after the holdout debacle? and this was voted on by peers!

and Feagles.. i know hes the oldest guy on the team but how does a punter really lead? maybe thats why theyve been so unsuccessful lately, one of their best players is a punter.. give a captain title to Toomer or something.. what do you think?

I don't think it matters a whole lot either way in football. It's not like hockey where being the captain is such a sacred thing. Football captains are just there to do the coin toss and talk with the refs to accept/decline penalties. So guys who have been around a while, like Feagles, make sense.

Hold Out or Not. Strahan is the best player on that team. Active Sack Leader for the league. I mean come. Feagles is understandable because he is the most experienced player on that team, Manning doesn't deserve it though until he can prove that he can lead. O' Hara, Burress, and Toomer would be my picks for the offense.

Strahan, was a shoe in. He IS a leader and, missing camp, doesn't change that. L.T., never showed up for camp after, Parcells left and, it didn't take anything away from His game.
as for Feagles, He IS the leader on special teams. the kickers, haven't been in the league, let alone on the team long enough to handle it and, there isn't a standout like, Meggett to take charge so, with Me, Feagles is just fine.
the coaching staff and, owners, don't pick the captains, the players do. how could their picks be wrong?!!!

I think Straham was chosen as captain as part of the deal for him to return, and Feagles was chosen only to have someone in the sidelines that won't get hurt
