I guess from reading the other answers on here, it would depend from which angle you looked...... and satan can look good and bad....... from my angle (Christian) I see bad, good, ugly, beauty, hate, love, light , dark, I see it all, what I do NOT see is TRUTH !!!!!! As said, Lucifer was Gods, right hand angel, what that means only God knows, he was beauty personified...... and then he , Lucifer , go greedy and power hungry, decided HE wanted to be as God...... and some of the other angels fell into his trap, so hence they also were kicked out of heaven...... Lucifer or satan as we know him today, has *power*, the Bible makes it real clear who is the god of this earth....... He can make things look real pretty, good, perfect, happy, just right, etc........ but, the kicker is, those who do not know God, and are falling for it, will pay a BIG price for all those goodies....... and even some Christians are falling into that trap....... they have it good, what they do not understand is satan don't mess with those who have not *faith*, they are NOT worth it, he has them already......... they are on the path of destruction already......satan is here and has only ONE job, and that is to keep people believing that God is NOT around or that he exist or not any good, etc....... satan is the father of lies........ people see what they want and choose to see........just my humble thoughts.....go in peace..........God bless

Misunderstood
Satan was a rebel. Not all rebels are bad. There is no documentation that Satan ever did any evil. He simply did not approve what God wants. He is enemy of God not men. Neither is Good or Evil. They had their war.
Darth Vader or Hitler, those are evil tyrants. Here's a question... Was Satan deceitful? No, he never lies. Everything he said is true. Do whatever you all want just sincerely repent and God will forgive. How many people did Satan kill? That's right you can't name one. How many people did God kill.... Oh boy... Let's start with Noah's Ark, To Egypt's first born sons and finish it this off with His own son. I'm not saying God is evil, he is God. That's his trip.
Open your minds. Don't believe in something you were told as a child. We are not kids anymore. Find the answers yourself. Most are simply common sense. You don't need a God or a devil to know Good and Bad. Treat everyone how you want yourself treated. If you want good for yourself? Then you're good to everyone.

BAD of course. Satan was good, and the most beautiful angel in heaven, until he thought he was equal to God. he tried to usurp authority over God and was kicked out (along with 1/3 of the other angels that he convinced to follow him). he now roams the earth deceiving us humans into believing that he is god. I don't believe that life would be as grand with God if Satan were not always trying to deceive us. he only has a limited time to convince people to believe in him. he is not a myth. he is real in every sense of the word.
The Bible calls him many things, the father of ALL lies. If you believe the Bible you should know the difference between good and evil.
(((No, I do know how to write. I just choose not to use upper case letters [even at the beginning of sentences] when I refer to him (Satan) as I write.)))

Right now satan is seen as evil, bad dude. At various times he was seen as having made up with god and they became pals again. Check your "histories" of religion and you will see many changes. Sethists, for one, Kurds, Many minor sects of Judeo-Christin-Muslim find satan to be a different entity than the one you had driven into your soul.

Satan is a symbol, one that has been warped into something evil over the ages. What Satan stands for now is evil in the eyes of the church. Before, he was merely God's enforcer; he did YHVH's dirty work.

Lucifer was God's right hand angel, whom God demanded bow down and worship Man. Lucifer believed what God had originally told the angels: to put no god before his own God. He rebelled and was unjustly punished and not just hated by God but, worse, ignored by God. God is therefore a hypocrite for preaching Love, but practicing Hate.
The term Satan, which refers to the "evil" fallen angel, is a scapegoat and he is truly misunderstood. Personally, I think the icon of Satan is good for standing up to a bully.

Satan prowls the world looking for the kind of people who answered this question with anything but the knowledge that he is evil incarnate, and the father of lies and all deception.

Why Satan is nothing more than evil that exists in the hearts of all humans. We are angels or devils depending on our choice.
