I am asking what happens if you don't show your sad emotions like crying.

Bottled up emotions can cause illness. It is healthy to cry when you are sad. Experiencing and expressing emotions are integral parts of life. Yet, for many people, emotions remain mysterious, confusing, and difficult to express constructively.

trust me I have a habit of doing this like I ignore crying and then when the cup over flows I crack and pour out for like 30 mins! Its bad cause I have a bad day when I do that! But its just the way I deal with it! Love this question!

Carlos.... When negative emotions are held inside, instead of talking about them or journaling, they will express themselves in other physical ways, like colds, disease, etc. If you are feeling like crying, something is bothering you that needs to be healed. Think about talking to a teacher, your parents, a good friend, a crisis line (for privacy), or another adult person whom you trust.

One day your sitting in Starbucks all by yourself and all of a sudden boo-hoo. And u can't stop. Than they kick u out than u go to a gun store and buy a rifle than u find a nice high tower than u start plicking off people one by one than we read about you in the front page of some newspaper. So do us all a favor and let it out. Maybe you need a hug and someone to tell you it's all right. This is what i do, i go to the park and find a bum to hug. (Have you hugged a bum today?)

Don't be afread to cry...
If you hold in all of your anger than it could couse depression and all of that anger would build up

well one simple word....Depression...its okay to show emotions it's apart of life

they build up and affect you at inopportune times. repressing them can also cause physical pain. they need to be acknowledged and dealt with.
