Yes, I pay for my music, I may download music that I previously had and lost or got scratched and don't want to pay for again. I do think it is funny that these same companies that until Wal-mart got real, used to charge us $16-$20 dollars for a cd that costs less than 2 bucks to make are now crying foul. With artists living like royalty and fat cats at record labels all singing the blues, they are still charging a buck a song???

If they really wanted to stop piracy they should figure out a price that makes it able for them to make a DECENT living and make the music available at a price that makes piracy seem unnecessary.

I was at a Target store and saw some older dvd's like big 'big daddy' on sale for $4.99. Here is a major motion picture, costing millions to produce and it is less than 5 bucks!

If I were to go out and try to buy, let's say the 1st Black Crows CD that is probably at least 15 years old, it would still cost me 8-12 bucks or a dollar a song. The music industry is its own biggest enemy, they are backwards and can't keep up with the times.

Mudhoney is astounding and Superfuzz Bigmuff substitute into my fashionable album popping out of the Seattle grunge-era (and secure to declare my fashionable band). Like Smiley stated, each good Boy merits Fudge is large too and that's effective those adult adult males are nevertheless taking part in at the same time and traveling to in the present day. If any band's sound suits the term "grunge". it must be theirs. and that's purely too undesirable on the Afghan Whigs. I in no way did pay attention to their final couple releases yet am a huge fan of the two Congregation and gents.

Your complaining about a few songs when these artists have everything handed to them on gold platters?? What more could they ask for?? Who pays me for doing all the extra work i do at my job?? NO one. Everyone here does work they dont get paid for yet, some live like kings and ***** when they dont get that Rolls theyve been wanting. So wheres the crime?? We want good music. Who's really suffering here? The ones who get dragged into court for downloading a song or two who have next to nothing, or the artist who makes $300k + a year who bitches because someone wanted to listen to their song??

Trust me the music is not free. There are consequences you have to pay when downloading free music. I think it is fair for consumers to pay the artists for their hard work. It is also called stealing. However, I think the CD's are ridiculously expensive. Come on who is going to pay 15.99 for a CD. I wait until the CD goes on sale.

I agree it's not fair to the artist however lets face it, half of them don't write their own songs and therefore I don't believe they deserve to be rolling in the high tax bracket that they are in. I work harder than a lot of them and never get the pay I deserve either. So it does seem fair to me.

I always pay - not to pay is stealing. If you don't pay the artist doesn't get paid for their work.

I wouldn't walk into a store and steal a cd - why would I do the equivalent by downloading the music for free?

When did we, as a society, decide we shouldn't have to pay for things?

I agree with others who have said that we should pay for music rather than download it free, unless the artists offer it free. The RIAA has been filing lawsuits against people who engage in excessive music file sharing. These suits are generally settled for around $4,000 - $6,000.
