Not really. Dish soap is formulated to break down grease and can be used as a spot treater on garments to do just that. Laundry detergent is formulated to protect the clothing's fiber, keep it bright and to remove a myriad of stains, not just grease. Plus, you would need a lot more dish soap than detergent to properly clean a load of clothing and that would over run your machine with suds and foam. Detergent is also formulated to have less foaming action than dish soap.

Laundry soap is formulated for low suddsing. The suds will suspend the dirt but not stay in the fabric when rinsed out. Dish soap is high suddsing and will make a mess of your clothes and probably the laundry area too!

I would be afraid the the dish soap wouldn't rinse out all the way. I could irritate your skin while wearing the clothes and cause a rash.

I guess you could, but I wouldn't do it. If you needed something washed NOW, and had no clothes soap. I did it once and it was very hard to rinse out all the way, and it's not good for your clothes.

while my teenagers have been newborns i used the dreft till they have been some months previous, and then switched to the all loose and sparkling till they have been approximately 8 months previous. after that i might wash a t shirt or some thing that substitute into worn on the component of their pores and skin with our customary cleansing soap and tried it for an afternoon. they in no way have been given a rash, so then i purely began washing their stuff with ours. it worked for us, yet we've pores and skin hypersensitive reactions in our relatives, that's why i used the dreft to start with . my suggestion could be try the tshirt difficulty at the same time with your laundry cleansing soap and notice in the experience that your newborn has a reaction. if no longer, you're able to be superb to apply the customary stuff.

Yes, if your washing by hand you can use dish soap. I use it for hand-washing sweaters all the time.

No they are not the same, they both have toxins and chemicals in them so I would only use them as directed or not at all. Jennifer
