One half of the egg is black and other half is very light creamy(almost whitish). The half which is black is called the animal pole. This part(hemisphere) contains little yolk and the whitish hemisphere is yolky. This is the reason why frog egg is called telolecithal. The black colour of one hemisphere is due to melanin pigments in the cytoplasm of the egg in that region.
