Most philosophies and religions advocate forgiveness for this reason. The person who hates is caught up in it and they end up suffering.

A person who hates me will seethe at my presence or the mention of my name. To see me will have them angry. Their blood pressure will rise, they will the adrenaline and cortisol levels in their bodies rise. The will be additional strain on their body and their organs. Any happiness and joy they have at the moment will be lost in the hatred and anger. Hate is inconsistent with being happy.

The actions that it can lead to are never ending -- up to and including war and genocide.

I think Larissa already knows. Hatred just leads to bad feelings, leading to feuds, disownments, arguments, fights, not-speaking, never knowing half the family, etc etc. And with"people" as a whole, it can easily lead to war, or acts of war; hatred usually covered with the name of something else.
Those are some of the consequences.

Hatred is never going to solve anything, and the consequences can last for many generations..like the Hatfield's and McCoys. they forgot what they were fighting about, only knew they were supposed to hate each other...I hate you because my Daddy hated you....how sad is that?

The Palestinians teach their children, from the moment they can speak, to hate the Jews. They use things that should make children laugh, and turn them around to make them hate...like the Big Bee or the Mouse...This is just unreasonable hate.

The Islam radicals, just hate people because they won't bend to their will. They see the world totally under Control of their radical, hate filled,, idea of the Islam religion....This is hate out of control and only God can deal with it. Wars won't stop it.
