I was playing football at an outdoor futsal court just now during the night and the sky suddenly flashed dark red, which slowly dimmed down to normal sky, which lasted for about 10 seconds. What could it be? I was thinking of fireworks the moment I see it but realised that it's impossible when it stretched out covering most parts of the sky. Any expert views or similar experience?

lol i dont think that is done by aliens but the sky turned red due to
twilights in which the sun rays fall on sky but not on ground and hence it looks red in colour during night.
it wud be better if you tell the place where you stay so the answer cud be clear.

This is definitely a unusual occurrence,.. I'm sure it would have been a cool thing to see,....I myself have witness a meteor hit in the Fresno Ca. area back I believe in 1987, I was 13 or so at the time.........when it came down it appeared as a blazing ball of fire that had a short tail,...it was a typical white and yellow with some blue color to it ,....but it was a instant flash that lit the sky up as if it were day for a split second, it was a awesome site,..... The news the next day said it was a small meteor that landed in a field that caused a small brush fire,......and since then it was never spoken of ,...well to my knowledge,...... I wasn't to big on news follow ups back then,...

Oh by the way did you catch the awesome meteor shower in the earlier morning hours of Sept, 1st....It was a awesome site,.....they were huge compared to what i have seen in the past.........They looked at least ten times brighter then any other that i witnessed,.....they even said in New york and the Carolina's people were calling in panicking and saying we were possibly being invaded........even the coast guard was on alert,......They must have got a much better meteor show on the east coast......I'm way over hear on the west coast my self. Peace

It could of been a meteor that has been in low orbit for some time. In low orbit it will possible go across the entire sky and then some. It is better to see the hole thing. The one I saw was over head and low enough to hear a noise and I would guess it was about the size of a truck . It got as bright as day as we were setting in a boat catching fish, but it scared the fish so that they stop eating. There was no report of it coming down.

This sounds a bit exciting. I think it could be anything which happened on the sky. Maybe a radiation which flashed through the sky. It could be a light from a plane or an aeroplane.
It could be an alien ship too. It's the night you have played. Many scientific books about aliens says that 95 percent of incidents which took place with aliens were in the night. Maybe you saw an alien ship. Or a light beam which came from it.
Or it could be someone signalling someone about something. It could be a shooting star also.

it was probably a meteor that exploded in the lower atmosphere, its not uncommon. and its not a UFO. people that beleive in UFO's choose not to realize that the nearest planet ourside of our solar system is a gas giant that is 10.5 lightyears away, it would take us 200,000 years to reach it in our shuttles. and it would probably take them about the same amount of time. even if they could travel at speeds alot higher than ours it would take them more than 10.5 years to get here since it is impossible to travel at the speed of light. and its a gas giant so theres no life there anyways. there are no aliens on earth. somewhere on aplanet orbiting the some 150 quintillion stars im sure there is, but no on earth or anywhere near it.

It was caused by aliens. They were trying to assassinate the president. They failed, apparently.
