I have a '99 Jeep Cherokee with a 2.5L and a manual trans. Lately I've noticed that it isn't shifting as well as it used to. Sometimes it is hard to get into 1st and reverse but it drives fine. Also, when I'm driving, I can usually pull it out of 3rd or 4th gear without using the clutch (don't get me wrong, I don't drive like this). The car has 100,000 miles on it. The reason I am asking is because I will be going to college next year, and I was planning on keeping this car for a few more years, since I have no problems with it. But if the clutch is going to go soon I would rather sell it soon.

Thanks in advance

Shifting problems are usually associated with the system that
operates the clutch as opposed to the actual clutch itself...your clutch operating system is hydraulic and I would check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder to start with... BTW it uses Brake fluid...

Increase the effective length of the rod that pushes the throw-out bearing fork inside the bell housing. It's located next to the bell housing under the drivers foot well. There's an adjusting rod to do this.
