But guys, consider this. Social standards is what a common gorup of people feel is righteous. But what if such people really hate homosexuals? Must we conform to such standards? Or must it change????

I'm so sorry, but "bend to accomodate the homosexuals" made me wet myself. :)

EDIT: Both groups will try and make the other change. Homosexuals will attempt to make society see them as "normal" socially, while society as it is now will try and make homosexuals conform more to its rules. It's hard to say which is right or wrong as neither is neither really.

Thank God this country doesn't truly force everyone to conform to exactly the standards of conduct of the majority.

In any environment or society, there has to be a balance, otherwise it would all go problematic. The most basic one would be for all sides to be responsible, mature and moral citizens doing good for society together - no matter what their orientation or personalities are.

If some theoretical society deemed that blue eyes were something to be hated, would you say that the society was "bending to accommodate" the blue-eyed devils by enacting legislation which protected them?

Any individual that "hates" someone for how they were born is the one that must "conform".
