Lower types of calculators are mostly arithmetic while the higher ones are algebraic.

This means, for some, especially those with lower capabilities or are older models, the values are determined right after pushing the operators.

In others, the values are stored and the hierarchy of operation is observed, it is calculated when the '=' sign is pressed.

To check:
try: "2 + 3*4 ="
... if arithmetic... the result is 20
... if algebraic .. the result is 14.

LOL, if there are any other value that came out ... your calculator is defective, either it was dropped or banged. Change your calculator, you might get wrong answers most of the time.

You have to be careful of where you put parenthesis or you could end up with a wrong answer.

You also have to be careful with roots because it usually only gives you the positive.

Don't forget this!
Be careful if it is set in radians or degrees when you play with angles! A big source of errors!
