No. Anytime I use a sharp tool like a saw, I always watch what I am doing.

Have I ever seen something out of the corner of my eye? Yes. It's an old hunter/soldier/sailor trick for seeing in the dark. Don't look directly at an object, use your peripheral vision and you will pick up objects/movement much easier.
