Pocket money ? Frankly I never got any.! I ....never knew that parents gave it to children in my time as a child.
So it never worried me ...................if I asked for money i usually was given it.eg for books bus fare ,movies , etc .
Or else it was too expensive for our modest income family so we managed without it.

Well i am a bit younger than the days with crowns but i wasnt much further ahead. we were never allocated pocket money but instead given money to go swimming when we needed. my mother bought us our clothes and food and look after us the best she could. we were happy with that. compared to the kids today who get anything up to 20pounds a week and more i am sure.

I used to get 50 pounds (sorry, my keyboard is from NZ and doesn't have a pound sign- grrrrr!) a month from my parents.
