I currently have a 4gb 1st gen. nano, and I'm looking to upgrade. Would it be better to get the 80 gb ipod classic, or the 8gb ipod touch? My iPod now is all filled up, but I was thinking that I could keep songs on my nano, and videos on the touch? Also, how many places in public have wifi? I have it at my house, but it would be dumb to use the touch as a computer at home.. Thanks a bunch!

If you want an ipod touch just get an iPhone it saves music it has a phone and internet they looks identical. But I recomend iPod classic and I heard there are not new features in the iPod touch except it doesn't have a scroll button.

Well, the wifi is kinda hard because most major cities do not have wifi spots and the places that do will need a fee to use their services unless you're a college student where the wiwfi is free as long as you have your id stuff. Anyway, I would get the classic for 249 for 8 gb. It's 50 dollars less and you can store over 150 hours of video and up to 20000 songs. The ipod touch is a major ripoff because what can you possibly do with 8gb for 300 dollars. Think about it, you have a 4gb, so double the memory is 300 dollars. But, 20 times the memory is only 250 dollars. and 40 times the memory is 350 dollars! That's a great deal. The only reason why the ipod touch is so expensive is because of the friggin touchscreen. Regarding your other question, you can store your songs and video on the classic as well except that you would have much MORE space.

Wow didn't know there was a touch you should go with 160 GB ipod classic. If you want 20 movies on a ipod touch sorry you cant because of the low 8GB and low 16GB space. The only reason why I would buy the touch is because I could go in my woods and get the Internet and the touchscreen. If you want to be the envy of your friends get the Touch, but if you still want to be the envy of your friends and have lots of space get the 160GB ipod just 50 bucks more then the touch 8GB and 50 bucks less then the 16GB touch and more space. Hopes this answers your question

Well the classic can hold way more songs then the touch. Also, the classic is i believe 50 dollars cheaper then the version of the Touch you want to get. So basically if you really want to just listen to music the classic is probably the way to go.
The Touch has the COOL factor though. I mean, touch screens are very nice. The WIFI connection wont really help you that much since really unless you are at a friends house the only free WIFI is Starbucks.
So really, I'd say... save the for the iPHONE! :)

get a touch because they look way cooler. You don't realy need every movie on the ipod at once, and starbucks has wifi for the Touch for free. they also come in a 16gb model which should be enough for you. However, they are a bit more expensive than the classic.

I would get classic unless iPod Touch supports Skype WiFi. If Apple has plan to support Skype with future software update, I will get Touch.

If you have a lot of music, definitely go for the iPod Classic... 80Gb for only $250? Wow. You'll be able to keep your music and your videos on one device. I like the iPhone and the iPod Touch, but they don't have enough capacity. The day the introduce either of them with at least 30Gb will be the day I consider buying one.

i think you should get the 80gb classic, its around the same price and your getting way more space so you can put videos and songs on it,
and from what ive seen of the touch it seems very big so wouldnt be comfortable in a pocket or anything

I'm going to be Purchasing the 16Gb touch. If you live in a larger City, there's tons of places that have wi-fi. Most Starbucks...
