My Boyfriend and I had recently talked about marriage but he said im not getting an engagement ring this year, which is fine because of our circumstances, but he did say that it would be up to me when it happens and i just dont know it. Why he told me that is beyond me because its always going to be in the back of my mind. I got one clue out of him and all he said is that he has one thing in his mind but me being a woman makes me think of a few things. I just really have no idea. Just wondering if there is some other thing it could possibly be that i overlook.

Im not worried about him holding things back from me. We are each others best friend. We talk about everything and anything. I know we will be married eventually so there is no need for us to rush. I am just looking for other options that I may have just overlooked or not thought of.

Actually that was a pretty good answer! Considering your circumstances (I take it that means financial tightness) this sounds like a creative way to say, I am not financially set enough to get married right now! I mean how mature this is! Most guys think about free sex, and............. that's about it!! Your b/f is thinking about your security and the problems financial difficulties will cause to the relationship. Kudos to him for his maturity! Don't loose this guy, he's a keeper!

Love is not a guessing game...if you are two adults who love each other and want to spend the rest of your lives together, then why wouldn't he just buy a ring and propose? That makes no sense to me...maybe he's having second thoughts...watch for a change in attitude, sex, or comfort level.

I hate that! If there is something on his mind, he needs to talk to you about it, not try to make you guess. He will drive you crazy if you marry him and he continues to play games like this. You should not marry him until he grows up and stops the games.
