You can go to the nearest Chase Bank and apply in person.

If you apply online http://www.chase.com/ you will need the following information

Social Security Number
Date of birth
Driver's license or state-issued ID
E-mail address
Home address
Telephone number
Account information for funding your new account(s)
A printer to print required documents

You don't pay any fees to open an account, though check the charges that may be put on your account if your check bounced and other fees

Call your nearest Chase branch and set a time to meet w/a personal banker. Since you are 18 there are a number of accts you can open, the most common is a college checking acct if you are going to college. If you are working and receiving a direct deposit there is an acct you can open. To open the acct you will need two forms of ID, one being a State Drivers License or a State ID Card and the other a student ID or a major credit card. If you do not have either, ask the banker before you go in. A social security card will not work but you will need your SS#. On-line banking and bill payment is free with most of the accts. To apply for a credit card there are just a few questions you will be asked about how long you have lived at your current address and how ling you have been at your current employer or school. The only fees you will incur would be for overdrafts, ordering checks, not keeping the required minimum, or having a direct deposit depending which acct you open. College checking requires you only be a student and keep the balance at or above zero, if you can do that then there will not be fees.

You do not have to open a savings when you open a checking, you can always do that later.

Go to the bank instead of opening an account online. The people there will answer all your questions and help you chose the right kind of checking account -- there are all sorts of different kinds.

You should check about onling banking and online bill pay. Most large banks don't charge extra fees and it is great to pay all you bills online.
