Would you put your keys in your mouth? Those things are filty...think how many times you dropped them, touch something then touched your keys without washing hands...laid them down somewhere, even just putting them in the ingintion. Unless you are disinfecting and cleaning them before hand I say avoid if possible, get him his own set of playkeys.

Yes, there can be lead and other dangerous metal alloys in your keys. Get your child some petend keys to suck on and keep them in your diaper bag so they are with you at all times for your baby to play with.

I think that the above poster said it correctly by asking you if YOU would put your keys in your mouth. Germs, sharp edges... ?
I know that I wouldn't put mine in my mouth, so I wouldn't be allowing a baby to do so. Buy the little one a set of toy plastic keys.

I always let my daughter play with my keys, it really keeps her occupied, and everything with her goes straight to her mouth. I don't think it's harmful.... My daughters doctor told me that it was ok for her to be exposed to things like that cause it helps to build her immune system. so, I'm guessing that means it's fine as long as she is healthy. I hope this helps!!

I wouldnt let her sit at home and maul them, they can bruise or even cut her gums. But my son chews on mine when we're waiting in line and theres nothing else to occupy him.
