You asked this question under 'biology' so I assume you mean physically. As long as you're breathing, you're pretty much a good human being in that respect.
Mentally...like someone else said, treating people with respect regardless of their views compared to your own is the only way to be. :)

I think one becomes a good person when one overcomes the strong and ever present urge to be self-centred. Altruism will endear almost anyone to almost everyone.
