My daughter fell flat on her face while running in our kitchen. To me her nose looks strange now, slightly distorted. Is it possible to break a nose at this young age?

Yes, you can break a nose at any age. Take her to emerge and have her looked at.

Anyone can break their nose, but it is highly unlikely for your daughter's age.

The distortion could very well be swelling to one area or another, which is simply pushing the nose out of alignment. I would tell you to put ice on it but I have a daughter the exact same age who would never keep ice on!

Try the ice, give her some Tylenol or ibuprofen for pain.

If she becomes uncharacteristically drowsy or doesn't act like herself, then take her in -- but otherwise you can wait this one out.

My little girl fell on her face very recently too. She came out with a chipped tooth but was otherwise fine. They are resilient!

Did she black her eyes? If so,and if it bled a lot that is a sure sign it broke. But kids at that age are very resilient and are like rubber I sure hope she didn't break it because she will have problems later on in life If you think it's broken for real take her to the pros's in the medical field.Hope things work out for you and her,Take care.

At that age it is soft cartilage. But other damage can be done. She needs to see her doctor ASAP for x-rays.
