There are two possible answers.

One is Hypatia. She was an Egyptian woman born in betwwn 350 and 370 (the exact year is duputed) and was killed by a Christian mob in 415. She was a professor of math and philosophy in Alexandria, Egypt.

Emmy Noether (1882-1935), a German mathematician, is also known as "the mother of algebra". She recieved her doctorate in 1907. She was a professor at University of Göttingen in Germany, and later Bryn Mawr College in the US.

Mrs Algebra married Mr Algebra in circa 1672.
Algebra jr became known simply as algebra after a bloodless coup in 1721.
