If you are thinking about moving to Tokyo, you need to keep in mind that the square footage for your apartment room will be very small and very expensive. When you sign the contract, they will ask you to pay 4 to 6 months rent worth. Although, the money you pay won't be applied to your next 4 to 6 months rent; it will be applied to "key money" and "security deposite".

If you have BA, you can teach English basically anywhere in Japan. But, in your case, most likely as part time. A lot of people who speaks English as thier native tounge tend to teach English, so, you won't be the first one...

Transportation will be vary. If you live very far from your school or from your work, you probably end up paying a lot of money commuting.

Good luck

Without a BA degree, you will not be able to find work in Japan. Japan is one of the most costly countries to live in. China is a whole different ball park. Not even close. Chinese are also very different, as is the government. Living costs will also be ALOT cheaper. But so will the wages. Considering you did'nt spell "thinking" correctly, I'd have second thoughts of moving to Japan...Sorry, don't mean to sound mean. But you just can't up and move to either of these countries. They have laws you MUST follow. China is a no non-sense place to live. Japan is cool, but not an easy place to move to.

for both japan and china it depends in which city you plan to move to

for instance, in china, there may about ten times difference in your expenses if you go to, say, beijing, than in a remote province where you could live like a king for a very meager price

as for japan, if you go to tokyo, the prices are pretty much like in the states

as for work, i believe that as a student, you will be allowed to work a limited number of hours per week, usually about 20 hours per week.
