inadequate amount of interactive lessons. failure to tie in the relationship to other fields of study (math, reading, social science). failure to create lesson plans that demonstrate the relevance of science in everyday life (for example, the chemistry in cooking, the biology in exercise, the physics in modern day applications of lasers).

kids don't value science because they are not being shown how they rely on it everday without even knowing it.

Nowadays, if your teacher is passionate, you will get to do tons of experiments. Science gets more interesting as you dive into it. Elementary classes are very simple, and there's not much to get excited about, but the teachers still put out an effort. Even grade 9 and 10 are a bit repetitive. Once you get into grade 11 and 12, and you choose a specialized science, you really get into it. Like Chemistry or Biology.

As a student, I hated when the teachers would ramble about Science, and then get into a higher-level question.. like quantum or the structure of the atom. Then they'd catch themselves and say "Oops. We'll save that for next year". I always come back wanting to know more. I guess that's a good thing...

The only thing I hate is those OLD Science videos.

When I was in high school, we didn't get a lot of hands-on experiences. Even the labs in Bio consisted of just answering stuff on paper. No dissection or anything. The thing is, some people are kinesthetic learners (learn things by doing) and when education doesn't provide that option or choice, they miss out.
