I'm guessing that African Americans are kinda sick of Al Sharpton.

I would hope that people recognize we share the same concerns ..... crime, education, health care, jobs ..... things that impact all of us.

The referenced article comments on number of murders in the African American community. Hope you find this informative.

Cheers !

Oprah, is an authentic civil rights leader, she doesn't pontificate race matters like a Sharpton or Jesse Jackson instead she leads by example.

Jackson and Sharpton prefer to perpetuate the notion that blacks are all victims.

Perfect example: Imus vs The Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team.

Imus' remarks were rude but that's Imus, after his apology it should have ended there. Enter Al Sharpton, the pity party has now begun. The entire team and it's coach are paraded on a stage looking like the ultimate victims, not the result of some egregious wrong, but because of the comments of a shock jock. These women are college students and athletes but thanks to Al Sharpton they were displayed as weak, helpless victims. I was so ashamed.

Leadership is where we find it these days, I think that the days of marching and begging are over. The next generation of civil rights is achieving. Relics like Al Sharpton need to grab a clue.

The highly respected civil rights leaders are dead...today's so-called civil rights leaders are racists polarizing the black and white communities.

Sadly, in this day of media scrutiny there are few leaders of any kind that are respected.
