What state? The laws about adverse possession vary from state to state. In some states, you have to adversely possess it for 21 years, in others it is a lesser period of time.

The next question is whether your actions actually constituted "adverse possession" or may have been done with the knowledge and permission of the owner.

Contact a lawyer for further advice. You may have to begin a "quiet title" action against the record owner of the property.

It depends upon the state that you live in. Check with an attorney. In my state, there is a law that states that you can claim ownership of property after a certain number of years of maintaining that property. Check with an attorney.
