a family atmosphere (No smoking or beer) "coffee house" where you could come on weekends and weekend nights
to drink soda, coffee, tea, lemon aid....have some chips or a sandwhich
and listen to "Live accustic folk music of the 60's and 70's"?
Or is that a thing of the past here in the Philippines that would not go over well?

Sorry you don't get it, I re-read and there is no way to make it more clear.

"oneiloilojeepney" Beer and Smoking becomes incompatable with family atmosphere WHEN "I" OWN THE BUSINESS.

"Bob" I can not exclude, Fat, ugly, sinners, because that would exclude me.
And besides we fat, ugly, sinners are the ones who sing the best, spend more money on food and have a good time without caughing or throwing-up on everyone. THAT MUST BE LOADS OF FUN FOR YOU...I know it was for me when I was doing it.

Yeah, I'd like that. But I'd leave my folks now and then to go outside. I need to smoke. But I'll come back inside. I'd even sing with you guys and play the guitar with you.

Hmmm thats a good question.

Would I frequent a coffee house to drink coffee and eat snacks while listening to live acoustic folk music of the 60s and 70s if I were to visit the Philippines?

YES

Since when is smoking or beer considered incompatable with a "family atmosphere" ? That live acustic music is a thing of the past.

So what your describing to me is like going to a church social.

They have a cafe/coffe shop here that also offers nice deli sandwiches and light meals and salads. No smoking and no beer. Guess what ? They are closing due to lack of customers.

No Smoking and no Beer = No customer. At least not this one.

You're living in the past. Try to accept those days are gone. Besides that, what you are describing is a church social function. And while you are filtering your clientele, why not exclude fat people, ugly people, sinners, etc, etc. so you can have only perfect beautiful healthy people in there. Good luck with that.

Yea, I've been looking for that kind of atmosphere especially if I want to chitchat with my friends or with my beau. When I was still in college I usually go there during weekends with my friends to study, listen music and have our fave coffee and cakes or sandwiches. At Cebu, Starbucks at Ayala is fine and also at Bigbucks. <*-*>

Yes, healthy lifestyle is better. With the expensive medical cost i would risk getting sick.

i would love to listen to acoustic music from the 60's and 70's they are well written than what they call music now.
