I want a woman to be president but I'm not voting for Hilary Clinton because there was DNA proof that Bill cheated on her and she didnt get a divorce she stood by her man. I believe that women should stand by their man unless there is abuse or infidelities. I dont think she will be a good example for our children. I want a woman president who sticks up for herself. If she would have got rid of him when that happened then she would of had my vote.

jeana- HE CHEATED ON HER. I guess that the bible and the ten commandments were wrong when they said "thou shall not commit adultry." I guess you'd forgive your husband for anything so I hope he commits serial adultry.

so i guess your saying that we should vote for someone who puts their goals and career over her personal life, because she forgave him (bill) then she has all of his help politicly. So I guess her priority is becoming president and her self-respect comes second.
America will already look weak having a women as president (other countries are saying) but then lets vote in someone who doesnt have enough self-respect for herself to dump the man who pubilicly humiliated her and cheated on her behind her back, thus stabbing her in the back, but forgives him because of all his political help. There is nothing wrong with forgiveness you just have to draw the line somewhere. SO many women writting in will let their man walk all over them.

Never would I vote for her...I would like to see a woman president in my life time....but I wouldn't want to see a woman president that basically condones cheating and will stay with the cheater for some kind of personal gain.

People make mistakes and people do change. Sure the bible says that but it doesn't say not to forgive. Since you're bringing up the Bible....who are we not to forgive when God forgives all of us, as long as we repent. At least she's taking her marriage seriously. That's the problem in the world now, people have problems and they turn to divorce. So Wrong! My husband cheated on me once but I forgave him and we've been married for 15 years now and very happy. And no, he's not cheating on me because we are always together all the time. He works at home nor does he go out without me. He always wants me to be with him. So don't be so be so unforgiving as we all need to be forgiven by God.
Besides, I don't believe that her personal life would have anything to do with the way she will run the country, if ever she wins.

Yeah she publicly forgave him and stood by him but who do you HONESTLY think wears the pants in that relationship now? She's got him locked down so tight now he won't ever do it again and he also knows that without her he's nothing. Bill knows that if she had walked away from him his entire future would have been in tatters. Now she's come through it stronger, more independent and is going to go a hell of a lot farther than he ever could. She isn't a pregnant and barefoot walking impression of Tammy Wynette's song. She's a strong and powerful woman who proved to everybody that just because she forgave her husband and remained in the marriage it doesn't mean she's an idiot or without pride and dignity. I personally wouldn't stay with someone who cheated but if you're gonna stay she's a role model as to how it should be done and handled. I've relocated to the UK and refuse to vote in American politics but I hope she wins. She's a tough bird and I like her.

My we have a very narrow minded opinion on this subject, don't we? You are quoting the bible, but it also states to forgive is divine. Yes, it states thou shall not commit adultery, but it states that is a sin, not that you should chastise someone forever; even Jesus forgave sinners; among them prostitutes. It is not up to YOU or I to judge anyone; 'he who casts the first stone'; how about that one? If someone is so very remorseful and admits their sin and does all they can to show they will not commit this sin again, even Jesus would forgive them as they have been shown the way. You can only judge yourself, not others.
I base my vote on the person who is best for the position; not their personal life. Hilary's' personal choices are her own. If you would not vote for anyone who has cheated or stood by their spouse if they cheated, don't know that we would have many candidates to chose from. This is not a perfect world, nor are people perfect. You can't judge as you have not 'walked in their shoes'; hope someday you are not 'eating your words'.

I think she sticks up for herself. And I bet that Bill gets to pay for it in some way every day.
But by staying with him you know she truly loves him (because she's a powerhouse, probably not scared to be a single woman) and she's showing a Good example by forgiving and by being loyal herself.
I'm sure she didn't just sweep it under the carpet or just let it slide at home in their personal lives.
And who cares, because it is that exactly... their personal life. THEIR personal life. Why would that have anything to do with who becomes president?

Marriage is supposed to be through good times and bad. When I was much younger, I thought if my husband was to ever cheat on me I would leave him in a second. Sadly as we grow older we realize that life in reality is just not that black and white. Tough choices sometimes have to be made. forgiving a person does not mean you do not stick up for yourself.
If I do or don't vote for Hillary Clinton it wont be based on her personal relationship with her husband, but rather can she effectively lead this country.

First of all, Hilary Rodham-Clinton is a very intelligent and aware politician. I think when her husband placed her in a position of power when he became president one one of the most important things he did. She was the first ever First Lady who did more than be a mouth piece for her husband.
Second, what does a person's sex life and marital choice have to do with their ability to govern? ABsolutely nothing!
Look at the issues that need to be resolved in this country, the economic downslide, the war, the health care problems. Then cast your vote for someone who is capable of bringing our country back from the edge of disaster, not because of who they are sleeping with!

I'm still undecided on who'll get my vote, but I certainly will not hold Bill's infidelity against her. You do not know what goes on behind closed doors in any of the candidates homes. Some get caught and some don't, but basing your vote on an incident that Hilary did not commit is a little ridiculous to me. That's just my opinion.

I think judging a candidate by their personal life and not their record is silly. Would she make a good president? Yes or no? Thats all I care about.
And if you think no one else has skeletons in their closet, you better think again. Lots of these candidates have done much more scummy things than forgive a spouse for having a fling.
Being a big enough person to still love him and forgive him despite his errors and shortcomings, I think, shows a great deal of character, and she is certainly the type of person I would vote for.

Hi..
Yes.. I would vote for Hillary Clinton..
Her husband made a mistake..She forgave him!
I'm sure it wasn't easy..She was humiliated, and embarrassed by what he did..But she found it in her heart to forgive him..And she also did what was good for her and their daughter..
And I give her credit for that..
I respect her..And I think she would make an excellent president..
I also think having Bill by her side, when she's president, would be excellent for our country..
Despite, what he did..he was an excellent president, excellent in diplomacy..And we certainly need that right now. I feel together, they could win back some of the respect we've lost from other nations since Bush has been in office!
Take Care!

No, I won't vote for her because I don't have confidence in her ability to run our country, and it has nothing to do with her forgiving her husband. IMO, we should have never even known about Bill Clinton's affair. Thus we should have never known about Hilary's decision to forgive him. That was a private matter between him and her. Would we think less of a male presidential candidate for deciding to forgive his wife for the same infractions?
