In ancient times as reported in the Bible ( and other religious texts).. there are numerous accounts of visitations by "angels" appearing to people with bright lights from the heavens, booming voices, being struck "dumb", "visions"and a variety of encounters with "God" coming down from the "heavens". ( alot of "divine" intervention coming from the sky)

Today,Modern day People have reported similiar encounters with "aliens".

Yet if you described the "alien" encounter to a church group they would typically scoff at it.

Why?

Is there any emphrical evidence for "angels" visiting people over the ages? No

So why do people "believe" in the events of the Bible, yet tend to think that modern day "encounters are BS?

Also - have you ever had an encounter with what you would call either an alien or an angel?

Very good question. I have no idea why people dont believe in an ET encounter. My mind is open to all possibilities. I know we are not the only living hings in the universe. I do believe that there are angels as well- I believe in a lot of things. No I have never had an encounter- though I do believe I have a guardian angel that hangs around me sometimes- when I need him! I just feel a presence, and I just know its him. Cant really explain it. I think there are a lot of unexplained things, and people should keep an open mind about endless possibilities!

Yes, I think I have had such encounters. A couple took place perhaps in the 60s, so they don't count, but more recently I've seen both: a perhaps human, beautiful but so evil-looking being as to take my breath away... and once more, a beautiful being yet good-seeming to take my breath away.

As for bible folderol (and not ALL of it is; some is pure history) the descending of angels into our "realm" has often been thought of to be perhaps that of aliens... then again, often in the bible, the angel announces that it's an angel immediately followed by the words: "Do not fear," spoken right up more often than not... so I guess angels scared people then as much as an alien may now. Or an angel.

This merely leads me to say my old opinion that I think we should just be open to all kinds of activities around us. I saw plenty of UFOs when I lived deep in the country... still occasionally see them. Have never known it if I saw an angel, though the KJV bible also says angels walk among us unknown to us.
I've quoted memories from years of bible study, now put down, for philosophy questions... I don't consider myself religious at all, but do go for spirit. Interesting that the bible comes into it so often. A good reference book, I guess--plus it was full of great stories!
That's it! Have a good one...

The quick answer to your first question is simply that people are not always logical in all of their thought patterns or beliefs. Another answer is that perhaps it is because "Angels" represent a belief in entities which are there to help and guide us, protect us from evil, etc and "Aliens" are perceived as entities which may not necessarily have our best interests at heart, in fact, they are frequently portrayed in our culture as evil or dangerous to mankind. It is a lot more comforting to believe in something benevolent then it is to believe in something which might destroy mankind, don't you think? People just tend to be that way about things they don't really understand or things which they can't find actual physical evidence of.

As to whether I have had a personal encounter - how can I put this? Yes, I have felt the presence of benevolent "spirits" (for lack of a better word), but I have also felt the presence of evil. I don't think these impressions of evil mean I have encountered Aliens, however. On that particular note, I do believe that it is impossible for mankind on the planet Earth to be the only intelligent life out there, so in that way, I believe in Aliens I suppose, although I personally tend to think of them as simply another species of intelligent life, neither evil nor good as a whole, but more likely a mix of both just as humankind is.

They scoff at it because they don't believe that God created any life other than life on earth, because that's all The Bible tells them.

However The Bible also omits any mention of other planets at all, and yet they are quite clearly there, and I have never heard a satisfactory Christian argument as to why they are there and why they are not mentioned in The Bible.

I don't think people take Aliens seriously. And in the bible, I don't recall any angels except in the new testaments. Either way the church has the right to claim their domain. I wouldn't bother them with aliens.

I believe in the possibility of "aliens" since there is no reason to think that earth is the only planet capable of sprouting life.

I don't believe in angels, ghosts, aberrations, trolls, Harry Potter, them Lord of the Rings thingies, wookies or any other of a host of imaginary beings.

regrettably, I disbelieve in all of those issues - extraterrestrial beings, visions, angels, parent angels and different factors are symptomatic of the disease in our society further approximately by our Euro-Asiatic reliance upon Shamanism, particularly upon form II Shamanism, i.e., Self help, Psychiatry, Pilates, Trance/Ecstasy, etc. we could continually take a leaf out of Sub-Saharan African classic religions and supply the spirit international an outlet upon the international - i'm particular they're going to behave in a thoroughly civilised way in return, and enable's end intentionally lacking the component in an attempt to legislate agsinst something different than being individualistic!

It doesn't make any sense, but when do they? Anything that is not of this Earth is alien, such as god. That's why they continue to persecute pagans for having Earthly gods.

The aliens you mention are the fallen sons of man, The nephilim does that vacated thier first estate, hollywood know all about this and make them look cute and cuddly in the form of ET, or grey in the form of x-files.

THe book of geneiss 6 says how the nephiimappeared on earth and interferred with God's plans, taking wives and spawning gigantic men. The plan was to corrupt the seed of man, and alter his DNA, making him predisposed to acts of EVil

THese were mighty men, men of old, men of reknown,

your legends describe them as demi gods, hecules, hermes, perseus, sons of Zeus who was a nephilim.

Being not of this world, they had a technological advantage, and you may have seen that in they sky as a form of bright light UFO.
They have corrupted bloodlines of kings and govenrments, infact it's where we get all our system of kings from, apart from the jewish line of David.

Evidence for this is in civilisations which became very great of their own accord,
sumeria, egypt, maya, all possess pyramids, with star charts and and calendar abilities.
Tribes in africa have knowledge of sirius star c which the west only knew about 50 years ago, but cureiously these african tribes worship half dolphin half man type creatures they call travellers.

How do you think hitler got his secret weapons of the luftwaffe program started, with technology that is out of this world, no wonder why he thoguht he had a chance of winning the war

this is all due tothe satanic work of the nephilim and their cross breeds

Aboriginies have pictures of giant men with helmets and hals on their heads, for a long time the nephilim have been breediong and interfeering with god's plan,

they appeared to the summenrians as gods and goddess.
Isis, osiris, horus, to name but a few.

Look at their ancient pictures and hiroglyphics, you will see them in the chariots riding next to the egyptians, look at pharoahs helicopter, you will see designs for a hleicopter, submarine, and jet plane, and a nephilim x-files style alien drawn in the middle

is it no wonder that no one knows how to build pyramids anymorE?
