It's more likely that your Mother was regulating you and now you are floundering without her. There is research (and I have had personal experiences) that the woman with the strongest estrogen will regulate the other women living in close proximately. This phenomena was researched and documented in college dorms. After a month or two all the girls were getting their periods at the same time.
I came from a large family and we had 5 women who all got their periods within days of each other. My father and only brother learned to be very careful men! I was irregular after I moved away. When my daughter began menstruating she regulated me.
I assume after a few months your body will return to it's own rhythm.

I know that women in the same home often have their periods close together, but I don't think that one going through the menopause can affect another. If her lack of periods was for anything other than menopause I would have thought it would be possible you were just in sync with each other, because that could be down to environmental factors. The menopause is a physical thing so I wouldn't expect it to affect another person in that way.

yes periods will / can sync up. My sister, mom and I were within a few days of each other. but not to worry just because Gram is menopausal your's will get back to normal.
if you are on the pill that would account for your light periods too.

No definitely not its just a coincidence that you have almost the same menstrual cycle with the people surrounding you
you are unique and so is anybody else so it is impossible for people to become exactly sync in their cycle especially when referring the amount of flow lol you cant be sync with that

No, it does not affect your periods, except that you seem to have convinced yourself that it does, in which case it just might. The mind has lots of stupid little tricks it plays on us. Quit obsessing about this, and your periods could return to normal...there are many things that upset your cycle, other than living with a menopausal, older woman.

YES! if they still have their period (doesn't matter if younger or older) if u spend alot of time with them such as livign in a house together then your period can slowly start to sync up to the same date (weird but very tru!)

I know I get mine with everyone in the office and used to in college too. You certainly won't go into menopause because of her though. I'm sure it's the new surroundings throwing you off.

Yes it can affect it. I would check in with your Dr. to make sure everything is alright though. It also could be affected by the move ie: stress...
