Okay, my dog had a tumor on her stomach and we put her to sleep because my dog was small, old and weak and if she went through surgery, then she would have suffered alot. So we thought that putting her to sleep was the best for her. Now, My friend's brother got shot and he almost died but when he went to surgery, no one knew that he would live or not. But luckily he did and my friends and I were arguing that I should have let my dog live and see if she is still alive right now but thinking about it I wouldn't want my dog to suffer and about my friend's brother, he was in the same situation practically. So tell me your opinions because I wanna prove my friend wrong. lol
Just tell me what you think

no ur rite, u loved ur dog and to make her suffer, would be... well, torture, to both you and her. humans are different because only if they are, say, in a coma or a mental situation where they have no say about what is going on, have 2 b fed through feeding tubes, etc., then, if you feel that it's the rite decision, you may choose whether or not that person continues to stay in this state. however if someone is badly hurt, u can't just let them die. <3 good luck hon, remember u know u did the rite thing and thatz all that matters.

Imo, you did the right thing. To let a pet suffer is the worst thing a pet owner could do. It's up to the pet owner to make the right decisions for their pet, because as we know, pets can't make decisions for themselves.

Also, if there was little to no hope for a complete recovery from the surgery, why put the pet through the ordeal just to wind up putting the pet to sleep.

Perhaps some of your friends haven't been in the same situation as you, and have no idea what it takes to put a pet to sleep and "why" that decision is made.

Well, Dogs are alot smaller, and have a higher risk of dying.
I think it was good that you got your dog put to sleep, becuase Instead of taking the risk, and most likely hurting her or worse killing, you put her to sleep peacefully, and I'm sure he or she is happy about that, as you said, it was old and probably live a long, loving life.

If you feel like to did the right thing for the dog, then don't feel any regrets. The dog is no longer suffering.
