I have a small repair business and want to get a website. Nothing fancy, just a homepage with details on my services and prices etc. How much would i expect to pay and how would i go about doing this? Would myspace be any use for this? Thanks x

Websites can very from £50+ depending what you want on your page and how much space you want. you could always ask a web design student to do it for you at a lower cost as they would like the experience. (possibly at a university of college) you could check you local yellow pages for web designers that would also give you server space.

Myspace would be OK... but as professional as actually having a web page. however it does have many good features, like email and a contact list so you could keep in touch with regular customers.

so if you business is small and has a small budget for a web page, then use myspace, but some people may not take it too serious

It could vary from 10 pound to 30 pound depending on how long it is and what service you use. You can have free websites and pay for a domain name which is cheaper yet less professional. Search on google and find the cheapest one and choose how long you want to keep the website.

Myspace is a bad option, it's more a chat site. If you don't mind having a website like : www.*site you used to create website*.*your company*.com you could try free*webs.com (without star) or bravehost.com but, like I said before, they are less professional.

I hope I helped!

(im not advertising for either bravehost or free*webs, they're just two good options where html can be used)

Mine costs $120 a year, but if you pay a whole year up at once instead of by month to month, you get two free months added to it. We went with A+ Hosting. I hear Go Daddy is excellent too.

You'd have to check with MySpace to see if they allow things to be sold on their sites, some places that are considered social contact sites won't let businesses on. Check their rules.

Hi there. Try online for companies that offers you free space. Be careful though most of them will flood your page with sponsored ads and cloud your message. Myspace is not really brilliant for small business but it wont hurt to set up a page for your business. It is more for musicians! I just started my own business called "Cleanart Cleaning Services cleanart.co.uk) and it cost me under £100 to set up launch and publish my site.

Why don't you start a free blog on blogger.com - it's very simple - you won't be selling anything but you will be sending out information on your business. to start with.

Next you can get all the information you need to get up and running with free software. I have used and can recommend this Show & Do videos http://preview.tinyurl.com/pu5n4 - free report and info there.

Because you don't just need a website, you need info and a domain, hosting etc. But you could do the whole thing for less than 50$

Hope this helps you.

Guess we can't name names but just do a search for domain names and web hosting. One place cost $8.95 to get your domain name for a year which includes a page and one email address. If you need what is called hosting, it starts around 3.99 a month which gives you many email accounts and plenty of space.
