What you probably meant to say was:

"If 7k - 3 = 5k + 2, then what does k equal"

To find the value of k you need to rearrange the equation so that all the ks are on one side and the numbers on the other.

Remember that when you do something to one side of the equation you must do the same to the other side keep the equality.

So to move the 5k to the left hand side you take 5k from both sides.

So: 2k - 3 = 2

The you need to move the -3 over to the right hand side. To do this you need to add 3 to both sides.

So: 2k = 5

Then to find k you need to divide both sides by 2 so that the 2 is eliminated to leave what k equals.

So: k=2.5

This is easy:

7k - 3 = 5k + 2

Step 1: You have to keep all the like terms to one side. Like terms contain the same pronumeral (The letter after a number). 7k and 5k are like while -3 and 2 are like.

We want to move the -3 to the other side. To get rid of it, we need to add 3 to it (-3 + 3 = 0). But remember- what you do to one side needs to be done to the other, so we add 3 to the other side.

Our equation looks like:
7k = 5k + 5

Now to get rid of the 5k, we need to subtract itself. (5k - 5k = 0) But, we need to do it to the other side as well.

Our final equation should look like

2k = 5

Divide 2k by 2 to get k on itself, then do it to the other side.

k = 2.5

Therefore k is equal to 2.5

7k-3=5k+2
Combine the similar terms...
so.....transpose 5k to the left and -3 to the right w/c will make:
7k-5k=2+3
2k=5
k=5/2

Think of an equation as a scale. The = sign is the balance point. You are allowed to add and remove
items from the scale, provided you do it in such a way that the scale remains balanced.
The adding and removal of items is done by addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
The scale is kept in balance by obeying this rule:
Whatever you do to one side of the scale, do it to the other side too.

Let's now tackle your equation using this philosophy.
7k-3=5k+2
I'm going to remove 5k from the right side of the scale so I shall remove 5k from the left side too.
7k-5k-3=2
I shall now add 3 to both sides
7k-5k-3+3=2+3
I now do the arithmetic
2k=5
I now divide both sides by 2
2k/2=5/2
k=5/2
We're done. I got +1k all by itself, and found that it equaled 5/2. That's what solving means.
Good luck to you

7k - 3 = 5k + 2
Transfer 5k to the left, it becomes - 5k, transfer - 3 to the right, it becomes + 3.
7k - 5k = 2 + 3
Simplify:
2k = 5
Transfer 2 to the right, whilst before it is a multiplier of k now it becomes a divisor of 5.
k = 5 / 2
Simplify the right side; there is nothing more to simplify at the left side and bingo!, you have the value of k.
k = 5/2 or 2.5 or 2 1/2

easy one.
7k - 3 = 5k +2
bring everything to one side of = sign,
it becomes 7k - 3 -5k -2 =0 (that's because when things jump to the other side , they change sign)
now we have, 2k - 5 =0
or k=5/2

and that's that!

the 1st step: paintings out the sum (multiply what ought to be expanded and so on) 2(by ability of ok) + 2 (by ability of three). This works out to be 2k + 6. now that the 1st bracket is out of how flow onto the 2d so as that's 2k + 6 - 3 (by ability of 5k) + 3(by ability of four) the -3 by ability of -4 will become a plus through fact a minus by ability of a minus is a plus. So we've now 2k + 6 + 15k + 12 Step 2. Tidy it up! Or in different words, simplify it! we've 2k and we even have 15k so take the 2k from the 15k We even have 6 and 12 which provides us 18. So once you upload the numbers that have ok or no ok in undemanding, you get: 13k + 18. desire you get it :)
