There is no reason for a spider to get on you let alone go into your mouth. Spiders are heat sensitive and actually don't want to be on you. As for going into your mouth they won't do that because your breath scares them away. This question is ridiculous and not realistic. I don't think a fly going up your nose has anything to do with spiders anyways. I don't think you have watched arachnophobia enough today you should refer to this movie if you ever have any more questions about spiders. I should know I have raised that exact spider. Have fun.

Urg! I don't like spiders so that's NOT an image I want when I go to bed. LoL!

I'm going to say I haven't eaten any spiders, awake or asleep, but I have had a small bug fly in my eye when I was coasting down a slope on my bicycle one evening on my way home. You know, like people get bugs on their windshield; rIght in my eye. I shouted to my partner `I've got a bug in my eyyyye!' I blinked to get rid of it but instead it was killed and I had to stop to remove the bits. And that's as close as I've ever gotten to an insect.

How would you gather these statistics?

If you're asleep when it happens you wouldn't know about it.
Then who's going to sit beside someones bed and count the spiders they eat per night.
So there are no reliable statistics available, just stupid emails with lists of "facts".

I suspect that more people eat their own word than spiders. You might ask a member of a Motor Cycle Club. I am sure they eat a lot of bugs

aparantly the whole eating spiders in your sleep thing is an urban legend... some legends say 4, 10 ,30 or 57... there is no real number of how many spiders we swallow whilst sleeping
