I just woke up from dreaming. To me, my dreams, guide me. They tell me whether I am going in the right direction in life or not. They tell me all the things that I have done wrong during the day through signs, symbols. Sometimes they can turn good memories into painful, embarrassing ones. Some days I wish dreaming didn't exist. I wake up regretting something I've said or done to someone. My dreams can haunt me. I guess when you don't have the time to think during the day, your subconscious becomes active during night. Everything is exaggerated in a dream.

What are dreams like for you.

Dreams primarily serve two purposes in life. Dreams through our subconscious self makes us aware of the path we should follow in this ephemeral world. Whenever dictated by ego... we follow a path... different from one desired by our soul atman within... it is through the medium of dreams God Almighty shows us the truth!

On the contrary in this ephemeral world whenever the stresses and tensions of the mortal world increase beyond our tolerance... dreams follow! In this case dreams serve as pressure release valves so that human beings do not succumb to brain haemorrhage or heart failure prematurely! Dreams not only release the excessive pressure... they also show us the correct path!

If dreams did not exist... most human beings would not reach the age of 35! Most would die premature death. Dreams truly act as symbols and signs in our ephemeral world. Whenever things tend to go wrong... it is only through the reflections in dreams one can take remedial measures in real life.

In the cosmic system it is our soul atman that is dominating. It is our soul atman that has manifested the body and not vice versa. It is our soul atman within that is the master and controller of the body. The sweet small voice of our soul atman that seems to come from within our heart always guides us on the right path.

Only when we follow the path of absolute truthfulness... the voice of our soul atman can be distinctly heard by one... never otherwise! Bogged down by wanton desires and greed for materialistic riches most human beings never hear the voice of our soul atman. Devoid of this voice... it is only the medium of dreams that comes to our rescue.

In the ephemeral world we gloat over our achievements... what when in our dreams we find our achievements a miserable failure! The cosmic journey of life by our soul atman demands absolute purity in all affairs of the ephemeral world. Prompted by the ego within... most human beings neither care for the voice of the soul atman within nor the dreams.

In such circumstances... falling prey to sudden death through brain haemorrhage or heart failure cannot be ruled out! Interpreting the dreams correctly is the gist of life human beings must always take care of! Only when one reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi just before gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... we do not dream altogether!

One who has gained absolute purity need not dream further. For the enlightened one... devoid of all impurities within... the world of dreams vanishes forever. No dross within... the dreams are not further necessary! More on Life - http://www.godrealized.org/truce_with_my_inner_self.html

Dreams are the sum of jumbled up memories and ideas that float around in the subconscious. While the brain and body sleep, the subconscious creates a random scenario out of your own thoughts. Dreams have no real purpose, or at least cannot predict the future as some believe. They can however give an insight to a persons present state of mind.

My dreams are always highly symbolic. I remembered a time when I was in a terribly vexing situation, where everything pointed out to a great failture in my life. But somewhere in my mind, I was confident that I can get through the situation... then one day during those troubled days, I had a dream which I will never, ever forget in my life: I saw a big mountain, breaking into pieces, disappearing into a pile of rocks. I saw myself saying "I can undo this, I have the greatest power in the
world", and miracle of miracles happened, and I saw each and every rock combining together to make the mountain again, out of my sheer will. Just after days of the very powerful dream, miracles started happening in my life and the thing that I most feared would fail became a success.

Dreams come for many reasons.Firstly when you have walked a lot due to some evil spirits or due to some negative energies it may come.Secondly when you think more about some particular topic or when you discuss more about any interesting topic, eventually you will be thinking of that for more times. This will give reflex effect in night when you have slept. Its some what closer to bed talk that is talking in sleep.Thirdly when ever its cold or the atmosphere where you are living becomes cool than usual your mind will become to stand still that is the range of your brain will get lowered, due to this also dream will occur.FourThly if you are very much developed in spirituality then dreams will come which will indicate the future of self or of some related persons who are close to you.If this should happen then you should have the background of spiritual nature.
The first 3 will appear for all peoples but 4th is only for spiritually developed persons.
We cont say whether dreams are going to be true or is it going to happen as what we saw.Because there is no particular nature or background for dreams. It just exists just as a shadow which exists when there is a light.
So to get rid of these dreams you have to meditate at least for 5 minutes a day.

That was self-defense, you killing someone Bill R, not murder. It was a dream as well. A defensive dream; you prob'ly have something you feel defensive about when you're awake... or that you should, but only your subconscious has picked it up.

My dreams are also very vivid. I also believe that when dead friends and family come in dreams, it's to advise me for the most part. Lots of symbols... water, babies, women, men, flying, birth and death; full spectrum. I've dreamt in color all my life, even before color TV. I like to dream and discuss dreams, sometimes on the dream interpretations page, which is, weirdly enough, under "Entertainment & ____"...dunno' why.
Anyway that's what dreams are like for me. They don't "haunt" me. Even if they feel like too much for a while, they don't haunt. It's all okay.
Rest easy.

Humans, like every other animal, need sleep. When we sleep, our mind defragments information. (Kind of like computer defragmentation.) The result is a dream.

While we sleep, our brains give frequent bursts of energy in no define pattern. Every time our brain has one of these energy spurts, it creates a new type of image. The bursts of energy confuse our brain; it cannot tell that what it sees isn't real. It tries to string together each image, thus creating the "dream".

The dreams consist of what has happened that week, what the mind doesn't consciously know, or what it doesn't know at all. I also think that dreams prove that we are brains and not bodies because when we dream, it is our brains (us) that think we are in a real-life situation. It is living in another dimension without our bodies really having anything to do with it.

When you fall asleep your left brain is the only thing that shuts down and your right brain plays around with images. But i feel that dreams have a deeper meaning and should be used to inspire your daily life. p.s if you want to have a dream where you know your in a dream sleep with your right hand under the pillow and lay on your side. its called lucid dreaming but i find it often has a consequence of sleep paralisis

dreams are like doing laundry or putting away groceries. Your mind sorts out and puts away everything. Some things are forward, because they will be used (or are more likely to be used) and other things are put back because they may be needed.

I think it's to release us from the tensions & worries of the day. The things that we plan out in our heads, dread over, consider, etc. Don't you remember what Mom always told you? "Just sleep on it...things have a way of working themselves out in the morning". Dreams can put a new perspective on things, shine a light on them! So...Sweet dreams Sweetie!!!
