Democracy may be the most practical system for preserving liberty, but that isn't a certainty. And dictatorship isn't the only alternative to democracy, there's also anarchy, anarcho-socialism and anarcho-capitalism.

Other thing to acknowledge, though it isn't as important as many other things, is that rarely is a country completely democratic. For example, in USAmerica there are limitations on certain things that people can't vote for. A president can only serve two terms, whether the majority of people would vote for them again or not. A person under 35 can not be president, whether the majority of people would vote for them or not. Even if one thinks these limitations are in place for good reasons, they are still undeniably limitations. Thus, the USAmerica is not a complete democracy. (those were only two examples)

I believe people of all nations wish for a democracy, however, their gov. may be another thing. It doesn't matter what the people want, it's up to those who run the countries. I for one am thankful and feel blessed that I live in the U.S.A

Those of us that live in democracies believe so. The benefits far outweigh any downside.

Do you wish to live under a dictatorship? If so just don't impose it on anyone else.
