You must be really confused right now, but it will be ok try not to worry.
It sounds like your first period yes and it wont be like turning a tap on-homones will be sorting theirselves out and could be light sometimes and heavier on other months, but if you are concerned you should really see your Dr.
Is there a close female friend you can talk to?
Good luck with everything it will all work out ok in time :-)

The brown discharge can be an indicator that your period is coming at any time. The yellowish discharge is also normal and a sign that the period could be coming.
As for why you aren't seeing actual blood yet is because your body is still trying to get ready for your period which could come at any time.
I would recommend talking to your mom as well as your doctor at your next check up for additional information.

Your first menstrual period is referred to as (menarche).
Menarche usually occurs about two years after your breasts develop (the larche) and between 4 and 6 months after the growth of your pubic and underarm hair. The age of menarche in most North American women is around 12 or 13, though your first period can come anytime between 9 and 16.
every girl in your age should have a good pediatrician to go to ,so he do tests to confirm if the (brown stuff) was blood or the (yellow discharge) was from infection .
GO SEE A PEDIATRICIAN

I'm the same age as you and a couple of months ago my friend had the same thing. She told her Mum, and her mum said it was a warning that they may be coming some time soon. A couple weeks later, she had her period. Mine just came straight away but I kept it secret and then my Mum found out a couple months after, so make sure you tell your mum about this. I thought it would be embarrassing telling her, but it's not that bad after wards because you have someone to talk to in case something happens you're not sure of.

It"s not weid at all, it happened to me at school before i got my period 4 months later. I am now 39 years old, and it's to do with your uterus trying to make a period, but then it stops and heals, thats why you get brown stuff, like a sore on your hand that is trying to get better. When a women has her period this also happens at the last few days when she is finishing her period the wound heals again, until we are ready to bleed. To much yellow is not a good sign, but alittle is ok. But do see a doctor if it worries you.

It probably was your first period. The brown stuff was probably just old blood.
My first one was sort of like that...so I didn't really believe it was actually my period, and then about a month or so later it happened again except it was what you would think of as a normal period.
I'm pretty sure it was just your first period...but if you don't feel like that's what it was, you should go talk to a doctor about it.
