The idea is to eat enough food, but the right type that won't let you gain weight.

Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy. Brisk walking is great for burning body fats.

It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.

Details such as my experience, meals, snacks, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog

Supplements are not designed to satisfy what you describe as food cravings. They are what they say:- supplements to make sure you get an adequate supply of nutrients. What you should aim to do is eat around 2000 calories a day of a balanced diet. No junk food, plenty of water, and you won't be troubled by what you call 'craving attacks'.

Hi There,

Always have a water bottle with you- wherver you go.. YOu can also diluted with some Crystal Lights on the go- it is a nice replacement of staying full. Also, eat three small meals and 3 small snacks in between.. Its all amatter of balance so that way you are nto alway sfeeling hungry... There are good snacks out there- that are under a 100 calories and are in a single serving packets, always add big empty fillers like cucumbers and Lettuce to your lunch :) GOOD LUCK!

What are you craving? Potato chips and/or other forms of junk? Potatoes and other forms of real food? If it's the latter, eat up. If it's the former, educate yourself as to what is and isn't in those "foods" and what they do and don't do to your body. Acutally, it would be good to do so with both forms of food. I eliminated junk (for the most part) simply after learning what's in them, what isn't in them and what they do and don't do to my body. I'm human. I have some things that I shouldn't. Overall, though, with pregnancy and nursing, I'm much more careful with what I eat than what I was even before my pregnancy.

I'm not keen on the 100 calorie snack packs. They're still junky. For 100 calories and less money, I can have some fruit or veggies. I preclean things like apples or pre-peel oranges before leaving and put them in a plastic zipper bag [which I reuse for the next fruit, of course], or with the orange, in a small reusable plastic container. Bananas are better because they're just grab and go. Even pre-peeling carrots and bagging them is worth it, too.

I do agree with the water. I put lemon juice in mine and it tastes very much like lemonade without sugar if I put too much in. (A bottle of lemon juice is much cheaper than the Crystal Light packets.) Acutally, I also like water plain, but a health consultant (I think tha's what she was) at my ob/gyn reccommened it for heartburn and it seems to be effective. (I also drink diet natural ginger ale and soy milk; Both are also effective.) Yesterday, though, I put too much juice in and it was very tart, even for my husband who likes tart lemonade. Lemons work, too, but the juice is cheaper and I don't have to worry about the fruit going bad.

It's my understanding that supplements are to, well, supplement the vitamins and minerals that one may or may not be getting in his or her diet.

Also, once I started eating better, the cravings, more or less, stopped. Yes, I still had cravings during PMS, and I've had some in my pregnancy. Nothing really odd, but chocolate (remidied by some good, dark, natural sugar free stuff) and good, spicy Mexican (Ironic since I was plagued with heartburn in the first and last parts of my pregnancy; I stayed away from spicy foods for the most part and now what used to be nothing for me, is now almost too much. Ugh.)

Anyway, I'm digressing. I hope I've been of some help.

Drink water when you feel your craving for food, it will make you full and make you realise what real hunger is. If you drink water then you are still hungry 15-30 minutes later, its real hunger!!
