It's also a downloading site but for handphone music. It might be illegal like Odex, I don't know. Thats why I'm asking- 'LimeWire.com-illegal or legal?'.

Limewire.com is a legal site. They offer a p2p software called, you guess it, limewire. Using the software is not the issue here but what you download with it. If you download an illegal content using the software then you're breaking the law.

LIMEWIRE IS NOT A WEBSITE.

You will be downloading "stuff" from unknown stranger's computers while these strangers will be downloading some of your files from your computer at the same time. You do not download from any website.

It is amazing that people who would never accept and eat a sandwich from a stranger, don't think twice about downloading a file to their PC from a perfect stranger, who lives half-way around the World!

Using Limewire or any other P2P file sharing program such as Kaaza or Bearshare, (free or paid) to share any copyrighted music, movies, software etc. in illegal in the USA.

It is fairly rare, but people do get sued and fined for using these P2P programs. Such as this 12 year old girl here:

Technically the act of using Limewire/Kazaa/Morpheus or any other P2P file sharing system IS PERFECTLY LEGAL. However, the act of sharing copyrighted music is what the authorities will prosecute for, as you are allowing other users to download something which they should pay for, for free. The act of downloading music which is being shared by other users, is illegal, however the authorities will prosecute those who are sharing a "significant amount of music" - like drugs they will go after the DEALERS not the USERS.

the software IS Legal.
what you Download is the issue.

When you go to their site it actually ASK if your going to violate copyright laws with this software. if you click yes, you can not download it.
