Probably Delta Force just because they were modeled after the SAS. Let’s just be glad that were in the same side. Oh and by the way that’s a pretty funny saying. lol.

The SAS are the originals and are better then the Delta's.
However, no unit compares to the SBS.
They do RM selection and training which is the toughest and longest conventional force training in the world. They complete P company (UK forces Parachute training - what the para's do), they do SAS selection and training and thats just to get into UKSF. The SAS is basic special forces, the SBS are the real experts.
To get into the SBS they then have to complete SBS selection and training.
They are far more covert and capable then the SAS because the media very rarely gets any info on them, and are arguably better quality troops because of their 100% combat background (ie the RM). They are as much at home in the desert as they are on water.
All British forces are taught to do things the dignified way, quietly with the minimum of fuss. Why blow a door off its hinges when you can slide in through a window, get what you need and be away before anyone knows you were there. It means you dont get killed. Always a plus.
The US army has nothing that compares to the SAS and certainly nothing to the SBS, they will argue that Delta's and SEALS are the equivelants but its nonsense.
To 'thomas sts' 2 places below me - At least our forces can control their trigger fingers when supposed allies are on the crosshairs.
And what exactly has the US military achieved in Iraq, all I can see is death and destruction but please enlighten us all. How dare you berate UK forces when we are cleaning up your mess. Lets see the US forces contol a civilian population with tanks and jets.

I would probably say no. The SAS are the best trained special forces unit in the world, one of there motto's is TRAIN HARD,FIGHT EASY. They have very intense training and the SAS train other special forces in the world. ANother reason there so good is the fact they are so secret about what they do. They plan the unexpectable so when on a mission, they go the most stealthy way to cause less hassle for them and the mission. Not a lot of people know a lot about the SAS, they are very secret

No, the Australian 22nd SAS are superior in covert desert Operations, also Jungle Warfare they are Specialist in that terrain. I saw comparisons with US Marines, even Royal Marines working with PTI's Sub Unit coarses at Holsworthw Army Barracks, not even close !

U.S. Army Special Forces are the closest equivalent although they do prefer the "smash and kill" method.
