The mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Oneness Pentecostals do not believe Jesus was God in the flesh.

There are some.
It is not the dominant form of Christianity by any means, but it does occur in less than 1% of the Christian population. The ancient Ebionites rejected the Deity of Christ, as do the modern Jehovah's Wittnesses (to some extent). Contrary to popular opinion, the Arians never rejected the Deity of Christ, and the council of Nicea was not covened to decide whether or not Jesus was God. I just wanted to clear that up right away, because even some otherwise reputable sources get confused on that issue.

I personally would NOT say that Mormons or Scientologists are Christians in the first place. Calling yourself a Christian does not make you a Christian. This would be like saying you're Muslim but you think Mohammad was a liar...it just makes no sense.

The *point* of Christianity is that Jesus is the son of God. If you don't believe that basic idea, you don't believe anything about Christ.

What do you think about this article?

"In the British newspaper the "Daily News" 25/6/84 under the heading "Shock survey of Anglican Bishops" We read

"More than half of England's Anglican Bishops say that Christians are not obliged to believe that Jesus Christ was God, according to a survey published today. The pole of 31 of England's 39 bishops shows that many of them think that Christ's miracles, the virgin birth and the resurrection might not have happened exactly as described in the Bible. Only 11 of the bishops insisted that Christians must regard Christ as both God and man, while 19 said it was sufficient to regard Jesus as 'God's supreme agent'"

If they believe the trinity doctrine then they believe that Jesus is God and they worship him as one being.
However, there are sects of Christianity that don't teach the trinity doctrine. They worship God as being the creator of the world. They believe that Jesus is his son who died for our sins so they we can go to heaven, but they don't worship him, they worship the father (God)

Yes, but they are not Christians. A Christian is a person who believes that Christ is God, that he resurrected from the dead (and is alive today) and was born of a virgin (establishing his sinless nature). This is affirmed by 1 Corinthians 3:16; '...do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? and Romans 8:9; '... however, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

If they say that they are Christian and say that they don't need or worship Jesus as Lord, then, they are apparently not Christian. Christian means to be "Christ-like". It is impossible to accept one and not the others of the triune. You must have all or none. No gray areas in this faith.

To be a Christian is by definition to follow Christ. Jesus Christ clearly teaches in the Bible that He is God, so anyone who does not believe that should not call themselves Christians.
